Brøytemannskapene snur ikke skjæret så det ligger igjen høye brøytekanter foran innkjørslene i området. Disse kantene består gjerne av store, harde isklumper. Dette er unødvendig så enkelt som det er for dem å snu skjæret på maskinene sine.
