Siden omlegging av trafikk med kollektivfelt i Halvdan Wilhelmsens allé og Jernbanegaten har trafikklyset i krysset Jernbanegaten - Halvdan Wilhelmsens allé hatt svak ytelse. Vekslingen mellom møtende og kryssende trafikk og aktuell passeringstid avvikler trafikk i for svak takt. Dog; den grunnleggende utfordringen i krysset er opprettelsen av kollektivfelt i Halvdan Wilhelmsens allé og Jernbanegaten.
