Nordreisa kommunestyre har i april 2018 vedtatt å avslutte drift av veilys langs riks- og fylkesvei pr 1. september 2018. Statens vegvesen og Troms Fylkeskommune har fått tilsendt vedtaket. Nordreisa kommune kjenner ikke til om veieier fortsetter drift av veilysene langs sine veier. Kommunen har sagt opp strømabonnement og vedlikeholder ikke lenger disse veilysene.
