Nesten alle risten på gangbanen over Nordsundbrua behøver spyling/rens. Sandrestar i ristene har i løpet av sommaren grodd til med gras, og overvatn blir hindra i å renne ned i sluk (sandfang vart tømt i fjord, så det er i hovudsak sjølve rista dette gjeld).
