Det har etter hvert blitt mye trær som vokser tett inntil ytterveggene på Vesterålshallen på Melbu.
Dette kan bli ett større problem etter hvert som trærne blir større med tanke på tilgrising av bygningsmasse, store røtter som senere må fjernes.For å spare penger må tilgroingen fjernes mens trærne er små.
